Scarf Knitting Patterns - How to Make a Scarf Using the Box Stitch Pattern

Scarf knitting patterns which uses the box stitch is amazing to knit (uses and easy 4 row repeat) and can truly give the terminated piece a nice texture as it's very soft and velvet-like. You can pick to pair it up with a soft chenille yarn for a truly irresistible combination. You'll need:

Home Made Light Box

1. Approximately 150 yards of light to medium weight chenille yarn
2. A pair of size 7 Us needles
3. Crochet hook or yarn needle
4. Scissors

Gauge: 20 rows for every 4 inches and about 17 stitches

Size: the end product is 50 inches long and 6 inches wide

Let's start!

1. Begin by casting on 26 stitches.

2. Row 1: knit two, *purl 2, knit 2. Repeat the process from * across.

3. Row 2: purl two, *knit 2, purl 2. Repeat the process from * across.

4. Row 3: Repeat the process in row 2.

5. Row 4: Repeat the process in row 1.

6. Repeat all 4 rows until the scarf measures about 50 inches.

7. Bind off in pattern (work your bind off in the same way that you would work the row if you were not binding off).

8. Cut the yarn and don't forget to weave in all ends.

The type of yarn (Chenille) is very plush and fuzzy. Go for a material that is made of wool and nylon microfiber as it gives the piece further stretch and warmth.
