Scarf Knitting Patterns - How to Make a Woven Scarf

Woven stitch patterns make for amazing scarf knitting patterns. They are so uncomplicated and a cinch to do. It has a very moving repeating pattern of squares of purls and knits, giving your end product a woven look that can suit a man or woman. If you want to give it as a gift while holiday season, all you need to do is pick a color that best represents the holiday theme.

You'll need:

1. Almost 150 yards of superwash wool or bulky weight acrylic
2. One pair of size 11 Us needles
3. Yarn needle or crochet hook
4. Scissors




Gauge: the gauge is not really critical, but I used 4 rows for every stitch for Almost 3 stitches.

Size: The fulfilled, piece is Almost 60 inches long and 5 and a half inches wide.

Let's start!

1. Begin by casting on 16 stitches.

2. Rows 1 - 4: knit 4, purl 4, knit 4, purl 4

3. Rows 5 - 8: purl 4, knit 4, purl 4, knit 4

4. Repeat the pattern for the 8 rows until such time the scarf measures Almost 60 inches.

5. Bind off and don't forget to cut off excess yarn.

6. Weave in ends.
