How to Use Hydroponics Cloning Systems

Using hydroponics cloning systems is regarded as being the most sufficient way to propagate plant cuttings for transplant into any growing substrate that you desire to grow plants in.

You can buy cloning machines, and these machines make use of an aeroponic mist application that ensures aeration and rooting to give you the healthiest inherent plants.

The basics of how to use hydroponics cloning systems are universally applicable.

Let's assume that your system includes a one-gallon container, which is fairly standard.

  • Fill this box with fresh water and, following the manufacturer's guidelines, add B1 growth hormone. You'll need some rockwool cubes.
  • These you will soak overnight in the B1-water solution.
  • After you soak them overnight, mix together your B1-water solution and then add in a nutrient solution to the mix.
  • Just corollary the instructions that come with these hydroponics cloning supplies.

In the basin of the motor there will be a fogger unit.

  1. Pour your mixture into the basin until you've covered the fogger unit with half an inch of it.
  2. Replace the lid on the machine.
  3. In the holes in the top, place net pots, and fill these up halfway with HydroClay, which is someone else one of your hydroponics cloning supplies.
  4. Plant a rockwool cube in each one of the these net pots, and then cover each cube over with more HydroClay.
  5. Then you can turn on your fogger unit.

Constantly monitor the water level in the cloner motor and keep all nicely filled with your B1-water solution and concentrated nutrient solution. Keep your greenhouse at 72 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit.

While these are the basic, elemental instructions for using hydroponics cloning systems, there will be variations, since there are different, competing hydroponics cloner machines and makers of the basic supplies.

  • For instance, one of the biggest selling hydroponics cloner machines is The Super Mist 25. As the name implies, you can grow anywhere from one to 25 hydroponic cuttings in this cloner machine.

Here is what is included with this machine, which was designed to be as uncomplicated to use as possible:

1 stockroom 14" x 14" x 12" (Reservoir color may vary)

1 ViaAqua Submersible Water Pump (1 year builder warranty and 315 Gph capacity)

1 Spray multiple with 13 Jet Mist Sprayers (The builder claims that no other cloning motor of this size will boast this spray coverage)

25 2" Net Cups

25 2" High Density Neoprene Inserts (These will last the life of the machine)

1 1/4" Plastic top cut to hold 25 2" Net Cups (This is very durable material and will not break). The top sits down in the stockroom to prevent any possibility of leakage or over spray.

This is one example of a hydroponics cloner machine.

  • You can assess different machines online and at your local garden supply stores.
  • Hydroponics gardening and cloning are two of the most appealing activities that you can engage in if you love to grow things in your greenhouse.

Bubbleponics: Build a Super Cheap Bubbleponic Cloner (Homemade Hydroponics)

Stronger Clones Start Here

Bubbleponic cloning systems are an easy to build clarification to weak and limpy clones. The whole ideas will not cost you very much. If you use neorepene discs, like the E-Z Clone uses, you will have an effective cloning ideas that uses no growth medium.

The aeroponic cloner you will have after this guide can root clones in as tiny as 7 days with an organic rooting gel like Earth Juice Earthstock. There are plenty of other types of rooting gels and powders. Clonex and Olivia's are two other gels that work well.

Supply List

-Storage Tote
-Neorepene Ez Clone Discs
-Air Pump
-Air Tubing
-Air Stones
-Power Drill with drill bit that is the same size as your discs.

Light Proof Your Tote

If you bought a light proof tote, you can skip this step. If it is clear or semi clear you need to wrap it in a reflective material. You can use Christmas wrapping paper if you do not have passage to something else. You just want to make sure no light comes in straight through the walls of your tote. The storehouse tote will be the water reservoir for your cloning system.

Use Hdpe Food Grade plastics for your storehouse tote if you plan on cloning consumable plants like fruits or veggies. Food grade plastics ensure the safety of you and your family. If the cloning ideas is only for flowers, there is no risk since you will not ingest the chemicals.

Prepare the Air Tube Hole

Drill a hole straight through the side of the Bubbleponics ideas near the top. A half inch drill bit works well. You can also use a soldering iron to make a small hole. It just has to be big adequate to fit the air tubing associated to the air pump.

Put the air tubing straight through the hole before connecting the air stone or the pump. You put it straight through the hole to test that its big adequate and to ensure the tube is straight through the hole before larger objects are sealed on to it. You can also seal the hole with a rubber grommet so no water will leak if it is moved.

Warning: Burning plastic gives off toxic fumes. Wear protective gear in a well ventilated area.

Prepare the Bubbleponics ideas Lid

Take one of the Ez-Clone discs or Net Pots you plan on using for your clones and trace the outer diameter on to the lid of the tote. Plan them like a grid so you can maximize your space.

Start your holes in one of the corners. The number of holes you make is up to you. Remember your clones will only need a week or two in the cloner before they are rooted and ready for transplant. It is good institution to plan for a join clones that you may not need.

Extra clones allow you to pick out the strongest ones and prevent yourself from not having enough. Of policy extra clones wish a salutary mum Plant.

Green Tip: Leave a tiny extra space in between your holes. The extra space will let the clone leaves spread out and still have passage to adequate oxygen. The point of a bubbleponic ideas is efficiency.

Next you can insert your neorepene discs or net pots in the holes you created. Here is where Ez Clone discs have an advantage over net pots. The discs can stay in the cloner when it is not being used to prevent light from getting into the reservoir causing algae growth.

Net pots do not block light properly unless they are full of medium. You can just waste adequate medium to fill the empty places when you are not using it. A smarter choice is to cover the wasted part of the cloner with black and white poly or mylar.

Fill The Bubbleponics System

Get the cloning ideas in position under the light you plan to use. Now you are ready to fill your reservoir with water. You will want the water to be a few inches below the hole for the air tubing. There needs to be room for the stem of your clones to hang in the dark 100% humidity environment above the water line.

Plug the air pump in and make sure you have plenty of bubbles popping on the surface of the water. If you plan on using all the spaces you will want even bubble distribution over the surface area of the water. It doesn't have to be exactly even, just make sure no space is getting too wet and no space is very dry.

The high humidity will ensure success in small 15-20 clone systems. 20 - 50 clone systems will only need two or three oxy stones. If you need a bigger cloning system, you may want to reconsider making manifold 50 clone systems. Having cut off reservoirs will ensure a qoute in one ideas does not end your whole propagation system.
